We just came back from an amazing trip in Hagiang - Vietnam. We started from Hanoi on the 20th August 2015. Thon Tha is just 6 km from Hagiang city, it's small village of Tay People with more than 50 families. The people here are still remaining traditional life: women are wearing traditional costumes, it has a small fish pond in each family, the houses on pillars, the roofs of houses with leaves of Palms, the houses are very clean and cool... You can choose one of 3 families to stay in this village. We took overnight at Mr. Cay's homestay. His house in the center of the village, we got great fresh food with family.
When we were here, we took a full day trekking from Thon Tha up to mountain, through green Rice Field Terraces, passed to Tay Con Linh Primary Forest and visited Lung Vai village (Lùng Vài), Khuoi Mi village (Khuổi Mi). On the way we could swim in a steam and waterfall about 2km far from Thon Tha. The steam is very clean... This is a great trekking places, you can meet local ethnic people, see beautiful Rice field terraces, primaries forests... warm atmosphere with family, enjoy delicious fresh food. We strongly recommend you to visit and over-night in Thon Tha. You should bring good trekking shoes, sun-skin, sunglass, swimming pan. It will be great time to visit Thon Tha - Ha giang from August to March. We wish you have a good trip to Vietnam. Thank you!
